History An own company Adrie van den Broek is the founder of EPMC Europe. He established the company in 1990 under the name Technisch Buro van den Broek. “In those days I worked at the municipal Port Authority in Amsterdam. I started as a crane driver, but within two years I was manager of the technical department. At the time of the privatization of the Port Authority I started my own company. For the symbolic amount of one guilder I could purchase a building from the Municipal Port Authority in the Coenhaven. I was convinced that I could easily create a successful company, but nothing was further from the truth. The first contract that I entered into was with the Ter Haak Group and the company expanded successively from there. During a large project on the Moerdijk in 1993 we grew explosively as an organization, but shortly after that (1997) things got somewhat daunting. New oportunities We had just changed the name to Van den Broek Crane Service when a large project came to an end and the order for the Waterland crane was awarded to Figee, a friendly competitor from Haarlem. Chris van Velzen, the director of Figee, later became a very good friend. He introduced me to ZPMC in China, one of the largest crane manufacturers in the world and this was the start of a wonderful new era. We made many new contacts via ZPMC and we acquired fantastic new orders. In 2003 we moved to our current location on New Zeelandweg 20 in Amsterdam, three years later changed the name of the company to ZPMC Europe and since 2009, we are also located in the Rotterdam harbour. We changed our name to EPMC Europe in 2012 and in that year the business activities were successfully expanded with the crane control technology department.
